WTF

Native Canadians (nee Indians) for many years wanted to be treated equally to the “Whites” in Canada - but methinks that this wish has changed. I mean, why would they want to be treated like middle class Canadians who are overworked, overtaxed and over burdened when they can have:

- The Ontario Government offering $100-some-odd-million as a payoff for the Indians at Caledonia to shut down their teepees and go home. (But guess what - its not enough!)

- Another $1.9 Billion payout for the for the families of those that attended church run schools and suffered abuse at the hands of the teachers/administration. (Like this didn’t happen elsewhere to other non-Native people)

- Millions of $$$ in money coming in from the many casinos all over the country (It’s their version of giving liquor to the Redman but now the white folks get it)

- Tax exempt status; free education; many other assistance programs (a.k.a. free ride)

Not only do they get the financial benefits noted above, but they are also apparently above the law of this country. I mean, if the majority of us were to setup roadblocks on a main highway and man them with armed guards I don’t think it would take too long for the police and/or military to come in and use whatever force necessary to get the situation under control. Does Caledonia ring a bell!

I’m fed up with catering to groups like this. We cannot continue to be expected to pay up for the deeds of our forefathers. Its time to move on and for everyone to take on their respective responsibilities in supporting this province/country.

In other words - equality across the board!

Yeeee Haw!Various news agencies have reported that Tobogganing accidents have killed at least seven people in Canada since 2003. All were children, except for one 18-year-old. On Sunday, an eight-year-old girl died when her toboggan hit a tree north of Montreal, and a 12-year-old boy from Manitoba was killed after hitting his head on a patch of ice while tobogganing with his older brother.

I could be a Neanderthal and talk about how kids have been tobogganing for hundreds and hundreds of years without the need of a helmet but that would be very shortsighted of me (even though I do feel this way - hell, I came from a time where we didn’t wear helmets for bicycling or hockey - nobody new any better). However I realize that safety of the children should be the prime motivation OF THE PARENTS in all activities they take part in.

While being tragic accidents, do we really require a governmental body to step in to enact legislation? Are we not being legislated enough in our daily lives for things that could easily be taken care of by some general common sense?

The use of helmets (and enforcement thereof) should be the responsibility of the parents of the kids. How hard could it be - “If you don’t wear your helmet you can’t go tobogganing!” - case closed! Does this type of enforcement need a new law to be implemented and policed by the state? I don’t think so.

Of course, there are a number of you who will bring up the Bicycle Helmet law as being good. Well let me just say that this was a fucking stupid idea as well. Again, parents should have been on the ball and got their kids to wear the helmets.

To all you Parents out there who feel that a helmet would be a good thing don’t be AFRAID OF YOUR KIDS!!!! Get some BALLS and make them wear the fucking things. Go to the toboggan hill and watch them to make sure they wear the noggin protectors. Not only will it show the kids you mean business but it will make them feel good that you are showing an interest in what they do.

Hell, get on the sled with them and take a trip down the hill (don’t forget your helmet though)!

Justice Marion Cohen who oversees administration for the Ontario Court of Justice at 311 Jarvis St., ordered a small artificial Christmas tree, decked out in lights and ornaments, moved to an administrative corridor on Monday. In a letter to staff, she said it is a Christian symbol that might alienate people of other creeds and cultures.

Dublin California, a suburb of San Francisco, gave preliminary approval last week to an ordinance declaring secondhand tobacco smoke a public nuisance, a move designed to make it easier for residents to take neighbors who puff with impunity to court.

By adding second hand smoke to the list of items that are considered a public nuisance, such as rodents, junk cars, and weeds, it provides those individuals who are ‘affected’ by it a means of suing the smoker - up to the tune of $7500.00. Read more »

HackedThat’s right! We got hacked today, by some Turkish group claiming to be Akincilar. It was awesome, they totally replaced our entire page with some rockin’ chanting music in the background. Sounded like something out of Communist Russia. With a quick Google search, it looks like many other sites have had this done as well. They also posted us with the following lovely message:

“You Two,Israel And Usa; Didnt You Think That We Wouldnt Ask You About All Off These Oppressions You Did.Today Our Way Is That,Tomorrow We ll Be Knocking Your Door Because Of These Oppressions.Be Sure About This.Sins Can Be Forgiven But Oppressions Never.Filistin,Iraq Please Try To Stand These Oppressions. We Came To Broke Hands Which Hurt You.Now We Are Here Against These Enemies !

What I don’t get… we’re Canadian! Oh well, we got hacked and we dig it. Payce!

No Scruff

NOSCRUF.org - National Organization of Social Crusaders Repulsed by Unshaven Faces. A group of women whose motto is “Lets end the trend of prickly, scratchy, stubbly faces. We’re not going to shave until men do!”

What the Fuck are they thinking? It’s women and their slobbering over Hollywood stars that caused the great increase in men who are walking around with unshaven faces in the first place. If it wasn’t for the resulting panting and swooning over the likes of Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Cruise, George Michael (um, ok lets strike George Michael from the list - it’s a different group slobbering over him) then there wouldn’t be role models for far less attractive men to start going unshaven.
